Meet Our Team

I graduated in 1982 from the University of Missouri-Columbia with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. I have worked in technology for 25 years in various roles including consulting, sales and program management roles. 

I became an entrepreneur in 2007 when I opened my first Liberty Tax franchise in St. Charles, Missouri. I have grown this business to 24 locations in Missouri and Illinois. I have my Business Broker license and I am an owner of First Choice Business Brokers. As of June 2019, Robin and I joined the Loyalty Networking team as the first Network Partners in the St. Louis area.

I live in Wentzville, Missouri with my wife of 35 years Karla Thompson.  We have one son, Whyatt, who is studying to become a Business Broker.  I recently became a grandfather with the birth of my first grandson, Finn Thompson.  When I am not working, I enjoy anything outdoors including hunting, camping, fishing and working on my farm in north-central Missouri.

Alena is an Illinois bred; Missouri raised mom of two residing in the St Charles County area of Missouri. With sales experience starting at age 16, outside of FCBB, her resume has everything from jewelry, to shoes, to stainless steel fabrication, to investment and residential real estate.

Originally jumping into the entrepreneurial lifestyle for the "free time" and "setting your own schedule" (let’s all laugh, shall we), she found home in investment real estate sales, and business brokering. With a passion for helping others, monumental purchases such as businesses and homes fit well for Alena.

Living in Lake St Louis, MO puts the Gray family close to the river, giving them access to their favorite pastime, cruising the Mississippi on their big block race boat. When not focusing on a client's file, Alena spends her free time coaching her daughter and son's basketball teams, and spending time in the gym.
