Biography of Bruce Thompson

I graduated in 1982 from the University of Missouri-Columbia with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. I have worked in technology for 25 years in various roles including consulting, sales and program management roles. 

I became an entrepreneur in 2007 when I opened my first Liberty Tax franchise in St. Charles, Missouri. I have grown this business to 24 locations in Missouri and Illinois. I became a business broker in 2019 and have since built a team that services St. Louis and Illinois. I am able to leverage my deep accounting background when evaluating a business and determining the appropriate sales price.  This sets me apart from other brokers. 

I live in Wentzville, Missouri with my wife of 40 years Karla Thompson. We have one son, Whyatt, who is studying to become a Business Broker.  I recently became a grandfather and have two grandchildren, Finn and June. When I am not working, I enjoy anything outdoors including hunting, camping, fishing and working on my farm in north-central Missouri.
