Biography of Greg Dyer

I was born and raised in Indiana. I graduated from Peru High School (Peru, IN) in 1969. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University (Muncie, IN) in 1977. Also, I did some graduate studies at St. Louis University in 1985-86.

In the middle of the undergraduate degree, I was one of the last ones drafted in the Viet Nam War draft. I served three years (1973-76) in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Forrestal (CVA-59) attack aircraft carrier. I was an Aerographer’s Mate (weatherman). Our primary mission was providing weather information to the pilots. In addition, I did the weather report on the ship’s television station’s (WFOR) news show.

After being Honorably Discharged I returned to finish my college degree. While finishing my studies I did the weather show on the local PBS (WIPB – Channel 49) television station.

In 1978-79 I was the Station Chief for the first private contractor to operate the Weather Observatory at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. In 1979-80 I served in the same capacity at the Pittsburgh International Airport. 1980-81 I supervised the operation of all the company’s weather observatories around the country.

From 1981 to 1997 I was a radar meteorologist with the National Weather Service in St. Louis, MO. For the past 25 years I have been a Real Estate Broker Associate. In 2005 I served as President of the Real Estate Association in St. Charles County, MO. During my year as president, I started to develop the first commercial division for the association. I completed that division in 2009. In 2010 I was Chairman of the Board for Mid America Regional Information Systems (St. Louis Metro Area MLS Company).

I live in O’Fallon, Missouri, with my significant other, Marie Kutryb. We have been together 16 years. I have two sons and one daughter-in-law. Marie has four children, two sons, two daughters and two sons-in-law and four grandchildren.
In my leisure time I play golf and bowl on a team with one of my sons. Marie and I also like to travel and are both big St. Louis Cardinal fans.
